Support for Women Engaged in Cross-Border Trade

At a two-day summit on women in intra-regional trade in Nairobi, Kenya that took place from 22 – 23 March 2018 to celebrate 20 years since the founding of the  East African Business Council (EABC), the EABC Chairman called on governments in the region to design policies that will facilitate and attract more women to engage in cross-border trade.

The event was supported by the EAC-GIZ Programme to support EAC regional integration. It featured projects by IIDEA, that demonstrate how training in business skills and cross border trade procedures can enhance women’s ability to compete effectively for regional opportunities.
